Piercing
After Care
- Cleanse your piercing 3 -5 times a day with
a sea salt saline mixture. Using 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
per 8 ounces of distilled water, mix your solution in a
clean plastic bottle with a lid. Be sure to use no more
than 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, more is not always better.
- After 7 days you can begin to gently remove
any crusty deposits while you clean with a well dowsed Q-tip.
There is no need to move your jewelry! Any small deposit
or dirt that enters your piercing could potentially slow
the healing process.
- Soak your piercing twice a week for 10 -
15 minutes to help prevent infection. Make a fresh batch
of your saline solution, and place in the microwave until
warm. Use a few soaked cottonballs or a small cup placed
gently on the piercing.
- Do not use hydrogen peroxide, alcohol or
bactine.
- Do not use neosporin or any other ointment
- Do not touch your piercing with dirty hands
- Stay out of shared water while it is healing
- Be sure to tighten any threaded jewelry
often
- Be sure to consult piercer or Web site for
appropriate healing
times before changing jewelry.
